If you are vacationing at any of the three Club Regina resort properties in the coming months, your experiences may be different than in the past and we don’t want you to be surprised. The changes stem from Raintree’s decision to allow the property management contract with Starwood Hotels & Resorts to expire at the end of 2009. Until January, Starwood had managed the three Club Regina resort properties.
Despite Raintree’s strong objections, Starwood has made adjustments to some amenities and services. This has resulted in fees for Members wishing to use those services. At Club Regina Puerto Vallarta, Starwood erected a fence along their boundary with gates at which Raintree Members can still access the Westin property.
We take these developments very seriously and we are working to resolve the matter. To protect Member interests, a subsidiary of Raintree in Mexico has filed suit against Westin and Starwood and we are in talks with Starwood’s top executives.
All Raintree Vacation Club, VOC and B-share members have legal rights to use the common areas in and around the Club Regina and Westin resort properties. Raintree Members continue to have access to the Westin facilities for the same fee that Westin guests pay. Please alert resort staff as soon as possible if anyone attempts to restrict your use of common areas.
You can review changes for each of the resort properties in the February 2010 e-update. |
